The House of J.C. Le Roux, South Africa’s leading dedicated home of sparkling wine, has extended its illustrious Méthode Cap Classique range with a new classically styled yet refreshingly youthful Brut.

Composed of predominantly Pinot Noir with a small component of Chardonnay, new J.C. Le Roux Brut is a non vintage Cap Classique with superbly integrated flavours of berry fruit, youthfulness and the great complexity of a bottle fermented sparkling wine that lingers long on the finish.

“This new arrival in our Cap Classique family was crafted especially for people who enjoy the elegance of a Cap Classique with a youthful character. Both refreshing and palate pleasing, our new Brut has rich yeasty tones melded with fruity Pinot noir flavours,” says Cellarmaster Elunda Basson, who has been wanting to craft a J.C. Le Roux Brut ever since joining the cellar in 2007.

“A Brut non vintage blend of classic Champagne varietals is generally considered the basis of any Champagne house in France, yet our existing Méthode Cap Classique range at The House of J.C. Le Roux comprised predominantly single cultivar, vintage offerings. We simply had to make a more accessible non vintage Brut for everyday enjoyment,” adds Elunda.

Invigorating and wonderfully refreshing on its own, Elunda believes the new Brut is an ideal Cap Classique to pair with food.

“I love drinking J.C. Le Roux Brut with fish, seafood, pasta and chicken dishes, and don’t forget the sushi,” adds Elunda.
The House of J.C. Le Roux has a wide range of Cap Classiques to suit all palates from award winning vintage classics to more accessible, off-dry favourites, all crafted in the time-honoured French method of secondary bottle fermentation to create the lively bubbles and rich mousse synonymous with a fine Méthode Cap Classique.
J.C. Le Roux Brut retails at around R68 a bottle at the House of J.C. Le Roux and fine wine stores.
