Knorhoek Generic White 2010 (R21 per bottle)
Origin: Stellebosch
Irrigation: Drip and Dryland
Cultivars: 80% Sauvignon blanc 20% Chenin blanc
Bottles Produced: 15410 = 1280 x 12 bottle cases
The grapes are picked ripe to enhance the fruit flavours. The Sauvignon blanc is picked from specific areas inside the vineyard. The Chenin blanc is picked from newly trellised vines. The Sauvignon blanc was treated reproductively to the tank where it was cold fermented with a combination of yeasts. The Chenin blanc was treated non-reproductively and were cold fermented with a suitable yeast. Both the Chenin blanc and Sauvignon blanc was left on the yeast lease for a few months before it was blended together.
Tropical fruit flavours, guava, honey, grapefruit and pineapple. Balanced between fruit and acidity. An easy drinking white wine enjoyed with green salad, white meat and a wide variety of seafood. Drink now or in the next 3 years.

Knorhoek Generic Red 2009 (R25 per bottle)
Origin: Coastal Region
Irrigation: Drip
Cultivars: 34% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet franc, 15% Pinotage, 2% Viognier
Bottles Produced: 25800 x 750mL = 2150 x 12 cases
Grapes are picked in the early morning by hand to ensure that it arrives in the cellar in top condition. Grapes were destemmed and crushed to open tanks. This mix of grape skins and juice were cooled down to approximately 8oC for about 3 days. A combination of yeast strains were used with each cultivar. Fermentation lasted for 7 days where after the wine was separated from the skins. Both Malolactic Fermentation and Wine Maturation was done in the tank on wooden staves made from pure French Oak. Duration of Maturation was 12 months. The wine was fined with egg white prior to bottling to give the wine a smooth, full round pallet.
Complexity of delicate fruit aromas that consists of black currant, black berry and is supported by flavours of mocha and delicate vanilla and smokiness. Round on taste with a long aftertaste. Soft well structured tannin and good balanced acidity. Drink alone or with a wide varieties of red meats. Drink now or in the next 5-6 years.
