KWV WINES CHANGING – BUT STILL THE SAME

KWV has refreshed its Lifestyle range with a new look and new name, but will still have the same premium quality wine with which you are familiar with. The KWV Classic Collection as it will be known consists of eight varietals namely: Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage Rosé, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. The blends within the KWV family will be referred to as the KWV Contemporary Collection.
The new packaging goes back to a more classical winemaking ethos, hence the name. “The new labels and packaging reflect the timeless, classic nature of our product and history”, says Uschi van Zweel Category Manager: Wine Southern Africa. “Wines created with only the finest grapes and winemaking expertise.”
Most of KWV Classic wines are available in a Claret-shaped bottle, whereas the Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage and Shiraz will be available in the more traditional Burgundy-shaped bottle. The white and rose wines will have identifiable white screw cap closures for convenience, whereas the red wines will have the traditional cork closure.
“The decision was made to move back to a cork closure on all red varietals. This reinforces and captures the traditional ritual of opening a good bottle of red wine. It also adds to the premium appeal of our wines”, adds van Zweel. The Classic Collection also includes a range of fortified wines – Cape Tawny, Cape Ruby, Red Muscadel and Medium Cream.
The complete KWV Classic Collection reflects quality, sophistication and discernment, making this truly premium product look and feel exactly what it tastes like.
