Uncork the flavour and fun of all things Italian at Durbanville Hills’ Festa dell’uva to be held on Saturday, 18 March, as part of the Durbanville Wine Valley’s Feast of the Grape festival.
Stretch-out under the shady olive grove with a glass of Durbanville Hills wine as you enjoy festive Italian music, the delight of small feet crushing grapes and the fresh, Italian-inspired food on offer as well as our famous charcuterie and cheese platters.
The little ones will be entertained with treasure hunts, grape stomping and Cannonier Gerry will captivate them with the story of the 17th century canon, before firing it at noon.

Meet our winemakers in a series of tastings throughout the day that will leave you inspired and informed. Try a variety of our latest 2011 Sauvignon Blancs fresh from the tanks with white winemaker Gunther Kellerman or join our entertaining cellarmaster, Martin Moore, as he leads you through the ‘miss vs bliss’ tasting when he will demonstrate why certain foods such as artichokes simply don’t pair well with wines but which wines are a sensory delight with your favourite gorgonzola. A vertical tasting of Durbanville Hills’ award-winning Pinotages accompanied by a variety of perfectly paired nibbles will be presented by red winemaker, Willem Coetzee.

Marius Malan grew up on their family farm, Staart van Paardeberg, on the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountains. Grape growing and producing wine run in the family and it was always Marius's dream to become a winemaker. After graduation at Elsenburg in 2005, Marius worked as assistant winemaker and viticulturist at Uva Mira, thereafter joined Slaley as chief winemaker and viticulturist. Read more...
