Located at the iconic wine estate, Laborie, in Paarl, the Lazy Days Market brings a South African winter Christmas market to the heart of this winelands town for the first time this year on Saturday, 23 July – with a myriad of experiences in store!
Share in the joy and celebrate the magic of the winter season as visitors sample the many Christmas delicacies on offer by stallholders – Glühwein, mince pies and even traditional Christmas fruit cake!
Soak up the festive atmosphere by singing along to carols led by local musician Derk “Fingers” Blaisse, watch the eyes of excited, cherry-cheeked children, bundled in winter clothes, light up at the sight of Father Christmas handing out sweets and enjoy the thrill of pulling their crackers. The life-size Christmas tree is bound to attract its fair share of attention.
The Christmas-themed market will also offer an array of exciting and varied lifestyle goods, including delectable freshly baked breads, aromatic coffee, cheese, olives and other local fresh products as well as arts and craft stalls.
Laborie produces award-winning wines, their Méthode Cape Classic bubblies being some of the best that South Africa has to offer, as well as the Laborie Alambic Brandy, voted “Best Brandy in the World” at the 2010 International Wine and Spirits Competition. Guests to the Christmas market may just find themselves being enticed by a little elf to join in a tasting of these wonderful wines.
The market hours will be extended for this special occasion and will be open from 09h00 until 14h00.
