LABORIE LAZY DAYS MARKET CELEBRATES NATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN STYLE

On the 9th August 1956, in excess of 20 000 women of all races and ages came from every corner of South Africa to march together towards the Union Buildings in Pretoria. These brave women were marching in protest against a law requiring black women to carry passes, placing further restrictions on the movements of these women.
The day is celebrated as a reminder of the contribution made by women to society, the achievements that have been made for women’s rights, and to acknowledge the difficulties and prejudices many women still face.
In honour of this day and as a tribute to women of all walks of life, the Laborie Lazy Days’ Market, will be hosting a very special market on Saturday, 6 August 2011 from 09h00 until 14h00.
The market, which is located on the picturesque wine estate, Laborie, in the heart of Paarl, will be hosting a range of exciting food demonstrations, to be enjoyed by women of all ages. Attendance will be on a first-come-first-served basis as space is limited.
While some couples travel around the world in search of romance, sometimes all you need to create the perfect romantic moment is a great car. Whether you are on a carefree cruise across our beautiful countryside or simply heading down the road for dinner, our sleek and sexy BMW’s and Mini’s on exhibit are bound to tempt your senses.
Although the primary focus of the market is food – including freshly baked breads, coffee, cheese, olives, honey, charcuterie – there is something for everyone from mouth-watering food stalls to arts and craft stalls and of course fantastic entertainment for the little people such as face painting and pony rides. Stock up at this shoppers’ delight on all things delicious and enjoy good company, delectable food and stunning wines.
