LABORIE PAARL ROCK TRAIL RUN 8 OCTOBER 2011 – Attention all running enthusiasts! Make your way to the picturesque Laborie Wine Farm on Saturday, 8 October for their inaugural trail run event, in conjunction with the Drakenstein Municipality. Situated in the heart of the Paarl Winelands, Laborie is surrounded by vineyards set against the majestic Paarl Mountains.
Two distances will be offered from the farm onto the iconic Paarl Rock Reserve. Route choices on the day include a 20km lung and quad buster, and a 9km introduction into trail running with some fairly challenging climbs and great views. All entrants will receive a complimentary bottle of Laborie wine.
Upon your return to the farm take a leisurely stroll through the popular Laborie Lazy Days’ Market, which will be open from 09h00 until 14h00. Although the primary focus of the market is food – including freshly baked breads, coffee, cheese, olives, honey, charcuterie – there is something for everyone from food stalls to arts and craft stalls, as well as ample kiddies entertainment. Stock up at this shoppers’ delight on all things delicious and enjoy good company, delectable food and superb wines.
Laborie produces some of the best Methodé Cape Classic bubblies, an array of award-winning wines as well as an estate brandy. Visitors can overnight in the tranquil guest house and enjoy a delicious meal at the Laborie Restaurant.
