J.C. Le Roux Pinot Noir Rosé, South Africa’s first rosé to win the prestigious Wine Magazine Amorim Cap Classique Challenge, has just released a new 2008 vintage of this highly acclaimed Cap Classique.

The J.C. Le Roux Pinot Noir Rosé 2008 was crafted by Elunda Basson, cellarmaster at The House of J.C. Le Roux, pioneers of the country’s first Pinot noir Méthode Cap Classique.

“One of my personal favourites, this Cap Classique is perfect for the coming Spring. It is lively and fresh, yet beautifully elegant with that unique Pinot rosé colour,” says Elunda.

Pinot Noir Rose

This delightful Cap Classique has all the classic notes of a Pinot noir with well-developed maturation characters complemented by subtle tones of biscuits, nuts and yellow raisins and an enchanting light salmon hue. After secondary bottle fermentation in the cool controlled climate of the cellar to create its sparkle and lively bead, the wine was left to mature on the lees for a further 24 months to develop its wonderful yeasty, biscuit character and elegant mousse. The wine displays a perfect balance between freshness and maturation showing a full-round palate with a lingering aftertaste of red berries and raisins.

The House of J.C. Le Roux makes a classic range of Cap Classiques to suit every taste according to the time-honoured French tradition that entails a second process of bottle fermentation to create the elegant sparkle.

The J.C. Le Roux Pinot Noir Rosé 2008 sells at around R110 from The House of J.C. Le Roux and selected wine stores.
