Embrace summer with the ultimate picnic lunch at Hartenberg Wine Estate, one of South Africa’s oldest producers of Shiraz in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands. Known for their warm hospitality at their homely tasting room, the Hartenberg team have put together a delicious picnic lunch packed to the brim with wholesome country fare.

The R120 menu includes Hartenberg wine with a selection of country cheeses, Eleanor Finlayson’s famous snoek pate, a selection of cold meats and chicken, homemade country terrine, roasted vegetables, crudités and country pickles, a selection of seasonal fruit, dessert and coffee. All the food is prepared by Hartenberg’s trained staff who take great pride in their home cooked country fare. The picnic lunches are available all summer from September onwards, weather permitting.

Marius Malan grew up on their family farm, Staart van Paardeberg, on the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountains. Grape growing and producing wine run in the family and it was always Marius's dream to become a winemaker.
