SIMONSIG WELCOMES NEW RESTAURANT MANAGER AT CUVÉE

Simonsig, the pioneering Stellenbosch wine estate has appointed hospitality professional Dirk Steyn as the new General Manager at Cuvée, the signature restaurant renowned for its Cape cuisine inspired menu and Cape Dutch modernism, served up with genuine hospitality.

Dynamic Dirk has been involved in the hospitality and restaurant industry for the past 15 years including stints at some of Cape Town’s most happening venues in a variety of managerial roles. His most valuable experience in business development, human resources and operations was gained during his tenure as general manager of the popular Tuscany Beach Restaurant in trendy Camps Bay.

In his current position, Dirk plays a crucial role in ensuring diners get the very best of the Cuvée experience through the quality food, ambience and wines offered on the estate. He oversees all marketing related activities and restaurant events and works closely with Executive Chef Shanel Gildenhuys and Marketing and Events Manager Elbé Nortje to reinforce Cuvée as a destination restaurant.

“Dirk joins a talented team of professionals at Cuvée who are renowned for their successes in the kitchen. We welcome his ideas in developing and improving the excellent offering at Cuvée,” shares Francois Malan, co-owner and Managing Director of Simonsig Estate which celebrates the 40^th anniversary of its iconic Kaapse Vonkel Méthode Cap Classique this year.
